Beandrea July is an award-winning writer whose reporting and nonfiction essays have been featured in a variety of outlets including the magazines Yoga Journal, Utne Reader, Colorlines, and The Sun.

An alumna of Script Anatomy’s Television Writing Program, Beandrea is a script analyst for Lena Waithe’s production company Hillman Grad Productions and one of Lena’s mentees, as well as an editorial intern for filmmaker Melissa Silverstein’s blog Women and Hollywood.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles from Washington DC, she spent six years helping to grow Customer Support Teams at three fast-paced technology startups, including Airbnb, where she was an early-hire.

A graduate of the prestigious Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT, she went on to earn a bachelors degree in Afro-American Studies and French from the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and won “Best Senior Thesis” prizes in both majors. A 2017 Semifinalist in the NBC Writers on the Verge Fellowship, she is currently adapting her television drama work into a fiction podcast to launch in early 2019.
